1913

With their debut release ‘Atlantis’ on new Manchester label Modern English Media, 1913 are creating a big buzz. Manchester has a great tradition of serious bands. Bands that tap into the dark side and turn it into anthemic songs. There is a melancholy about the city- a soulful, sweeping power that fuses all the best music to come from Manchester. Afterall this is the hometown of Joy Division- who thirty years ago changed the face of music in the post punk era. 1913 are the 21st century equivalent of this proud tradition. They are one of the few bands that live their music and also write the songs to match this intensity.
